The New Forum of Mactaris (Makthar) in modern-day Tunisia was constructed in the 2nd century CE and covered an area of 1,500 square meters. The square was bordered by porticoes on three sides with a single arch on one side, built in 116 CE in honour of Emperor Trajan. This arch served as the entrance to the New Forum.
