Portrait of Confederate General John Bell Hood, c. 1861-1865.
Depicted here is a framed, colorized photograph of a uniformed John Bell Hood (1831-1879), the Confederate general who rose to lead the Army of Tennessee in the final year of the American Civil War. The conflict took the use of Hood's left arm and right leg, and his late and unsuccessful command in the western theater saw the decimation of his forces.
