The Tophet of Carthage is a hybrid sanctuary-necropolis of Punic Carthage. Originally dedicated to the deities Baal-Hammon and Tanit and used between c. 400 and 200 BCE, this Carthaginian site for sacrifices and burials features short stelae engraved with simple geometric shapes and symbols.
