Paul French (born 1966) is a British author and journalist specialised in China, where he worked for many years. His books include Midnight in Peking: How the Murder of a Young Englishwoman Haunted the Last Days of Old China (2011), City of Devils: A Shanghai Noir, Carl Crow: A Tough Old China Hand (2018), and Her Lotus Year: China, the Roaring Twenties and the Making of Wallis Simpson (2024).
