While reading the stories in this book of Native American legends, I found that far too many of them have European influences and do not reflect an authentic Native American voice.

Really cool, glad now a lot of native legends are written down and preserved outside of memory. I especially liked the way the natives used imagery, reading it you occasionally get some pretty cool celestial scenes of people transcending into the stars and whatnot. Would be excellent to read with your kids but also is good for people who want to understand the native cultural perspective rather than just the raw history. I read this for a few episodes of my podcast, Hard Fried History.

This may be the only drawback in that because it covers so many areas and tribes, they are limited in the stories they tell from each tribe. None the less, it is worth the used price I paid for interesting stories of regional and continental origination stories.
