# باكتريا

كانت باكتريا (باختريا) مقاطعة في الإمبراطورية الفارسية ، تقع حالياً في أفغانستان و أوزبكستان و طاجيكستان.

بعد هزيمة ملك بلاد فارس داريوش الثالث ، استمرت باكتريا وتحت قيادة الملك بيسوس الذي أعلن نفسه خليفة لداريوش مقاومتها ضد الإسكندر الأكبر. احتل الإسكندر باكتريا بصعوبة بالغة بين سنة ٣٢٩-٣٢٧ قبل الميلاد وذلك بمساعدة كبيرة من قبل القوات المحلية الأحتياطية. وأثناء إقامته هُناك تزوج الإسكندر من امرأة (أميرة) باكتريانية تُدعى روكسان (روكسانا) لتساعدهُ للسيطرة على المنطقة.

وبعد وفاة الإسكندر اصبحت باكتريا جزءاً من الإمبراطورية السلوقية. بسبب الصعوبات العديدة التي واجهها الملوك السلوقيون وقاتلوا من إجلها وبسبب الهجمات من قبل بطليموس الثاني ملك مصر ، فقد أعطت الفرصة لــ ديودوتوس حاكم باكتريا (مَرْزُبان بالفارسية القديمة) لإعلان الاستقلال (تقريباً ٢٥٥ قبل الميلاد) والقضاء على سوقديانا ومن ثُمَ تأسيس المملكة الهندية الاغريقية.
