Stele to the orant, unknown source, 7th century CE, limestone. Musée d'Art et d'Histoire (Musée du Cinquantenaire, Brussels). Made with CapturingReality.

The character, from the front, with his head encircled and his palms lifted in the attitude of prayer. His long tunic is decorated with crosses inscribed in a circle. The Christian theme of the orant in Egypt dates back to the Greco-Roman period, where it is frequently attested on the stelae of Kom Abou Bilou.
