The [Temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of the Ways (Las Vias) at [Maya](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Maya/) site of [Chacchoben](https://www.worldhistory.org/Chacchoben/), c. 700 CE. In Maya belief, the Ways ("Wayobs") were protective spirits who guided an individual through life. Wayobs were thought to appear in dreams to deliver messages from the gods and offerings to them were brought to the altar at this temple.
