Olga of Kiev, who is better known as Saint Olga (d. 969) of the [Kievan Rus](https://www.worldhistory.org/Kievan_Rus/). After her husband, Igor of Kiev (r. 912-945) is killed by the Drevlian tribe (a tribe of Early East [Slavs](https://www.worldhistory.org/Slavs/)), Olga seeks bloody vengeance and achieves this, among others burning some of them alive directly and burning down the [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of Iskorosten along with its inhabitants. Some parts of her life as recorded in the *Russian Primary Chronicle* are thought to be mythical or legendary.
