This ancient [Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) was constructed around 4 to 7 CE and dedicated to Gaius [Caesar](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/caesar/) and Lucius Caesar, the grandsons and adpoted heirs of Emperor [Augustus](https://www.worldhistory.org/augustus/). It represents the best-preserved Roman temple facades today.
