## Image Caption

Wayland's Smithy is a [Neolithic](https://www.worldhistory.org/Neolithic/) [long barrow](https://www.worldhistory.org/Long_Barrow/) and [burial](https://www.worldhistory.org/burial/) chamber in Oxfordshire, [England](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/england/) which dates to the 4th Millennium BCE. The site was built in two phases, a timber oval chamber was constructed c. 3570 BCE, and the stone long barrow pictured was constructed around 3430 BCE.
