## Image Caption

This [bronze](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/bronze/) helmet is decorated with a pattern of dots and crooks ending in bull's heads, which frame the Urartian versions of the [Egyptian](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Egyptian/) sun-disc. The pointed shape was designed to deflect arrows. Holes around the edges are for attaching a leather or a felt lining. Probably from North-Western Iran. Urartian, 9th to 8th century BCE. (The British Museum, London).
