A [silver](https://www.worldhistory.org/Silver/) denarius issued by the [Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) Republican moneyer Manius Fonteius in 85 BCE. The deity depicted on the front has been identified by scholars as either [Apollo](https://www.worldhistory.org/apollo/) or [Vejovis](https://www.worldhistory.org/Vejovis/). The reverse depicted a winged child mounted on a male goat, with thyrsus below and the pilos of the [Dioscuri](https://www.worldhistory.org/Castor_and_Pollux/) above. Scholars assign it the identification number Crawford 353/1a.
