Drawing depicting the Jelling cup - a Viking Age silver cup found in a burial mound at the site of Jelling, Denmark. It is decorated with typical Viking Age animal ornamentation, in this case of the so-called Jelling style variety, which was named after this particular cup. The grave is thought to have been that of the Danish King Gorm the Old (r. c. 936-958 CE), with the cup itself presumed to date to c. 958 CE.
