This is the interior of the Ninmah ([Ninhursag](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ninhursag/), Damgalnuna) [Temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) at the ancient [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of [Babylon](https://www.worldhistory.org/babylon/), Iraq, reing of [Nebuchadnezzar II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Nebuchadnezzar_II/), 6th century BCE. Ninmah was a mother goddess in ancient [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/). Most of the walls were reconstructed during the 1980s CE by Saddam Hussein, former president of Iraq.
