## Image Caption

The [Temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/), dedicated to the [god](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/) Mithras, the Lord of Light, was built in the 3rd century CE by an unknown [Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) citizen of Londinium in the garden of his home, next to one of London’s lost rivers, the Walbrook.
