## Image Caption

This detail from [Bayeux Tapestry](https://www.worldhistory.org/Bayeux_Tapestry/) depicts Bishop [Odo of Bayeux](https://www.worldhistory.org/Odo_of_Bayeux/), half-brother of [William the Conqueror](https://www.worldhistory.org/William_the_Conqueror/), rallying the troops at the [Battle of Hastings](https://www.worldhistory.org/Battle_of_Hastings/). The tapestry is believed to date to the eleventh century CE. As can be seen, the artifact isn't a tapestry, strictly speaking, but a work of embroidery.
