This tale is recorded in the Skírnismál ('lay of Skírnir'). This particular depiction is titled 'The Lovesickness of Frey' and appears in 'The Elder or Poetic [Edda](https://www.worldhistory.org/Edda/); commonly known as Sæmund's Edda.' Edited and translated with introduction and notes by Olive Bray. Illustrated by W.G. Collingwood (1908).
