Reconstruction of a [Viking](https://www.worldhistory.org/Vikings/) church that stood at Erik the Red's (and his descendants') farm at Brattahlíð, in the [Vikings](https://www.worldhistory.org/Vikings/)' Eastern Settlement in Greenland. Brattahlíð was situated in a prime farming location, sheltered in an inner fjord. Churches in [Viking Age Greenland](https://www.worldhistory.org/article/1208/viking-age-greenland/) - a period that stretched from c. 985-1450 CE - were generally privately owned and attached to farms.
