Reconstruction of a Viking church that stood at Erik the Red's (and his descendants') farm at Brattahlíð, in the Vikings' Eastern Settlement in Greenland. Brattahlíð was situated in a prime farming location, sheltered in an inner fjord. Churches in Viking Age Greenland - a period that stretched from c. 985-1450 CE - were generally privately owned and attached to farms.
