The [Pantheon](https://www.worldhistory.org/Pantheon/) of [Rome](https://www.worldhistory.org/Rome/), completed in c. 125 CE under the reign of [Hadrian](https://www.worldhistory.org/hadrian/). The exact function of the building in antiquity is not known, no other example is known in Rome of a [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) to all the gods (as its name suggests) and it was, therefore, more likely built as a building or temple for a ruler cult.
