This is only known [bronze](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/bronze/)/[copper](https://www.worldhistory.org/copper/) alloy vessel inscribed with the name of Utu-Hegal, King of [Uruk](https://www.worldhistory.org/uruk/). Utu-Hegal was considered a hero, who drove the hated [Gutian](https://www.worldhistory.org/Gutians/) invaders out of Southern Mesopotmia. The inscribed [cuneiform](https://www.worldhistory.org/cuneiform/) text mentions the name and titles of the king but mainly concentrates on the cursing formula (which curses anyone who tries to deface the [writing](https://www.worldhistory.org/writing/)). From Uruk, Southern [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/), modern-day Iraq. Neo-[Sumerian](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sumerians/) Period, reign of Utu-Hegal, 2123-2113 BCE.
