The ruins of [Teishebaini](https://www.worldhistory.org/Teishebaini/) (aka Tesebaini, near modern Yerevan in [Armenia](https://www.worldhistory.org/armenia/)) which was an important fortress [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of the [Urartu civilization](https://www.worldhistory.org/Urartu_Civilization/). Founded in the reign of king Rusa II (r. c. 685-645 BCE) and abandoned c. 590 BCE.
