Th ruins of the 10th century CE Ani Cathedral, once capital of medieval [Armenia](https://www.worldhistory.org/armenia/) (modern-day eastern [Turkey](https://www.worldhistory.org/Asia_Minor/)). It was designed and built by the celebrated architect [Trdat the Builder](https://www.worldhistory.org/Trdat_the_Architect/) (c. 940s - c. 1020s CE).
