They are now in St. [Mark](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Mark/)'s cathedral, Venice, [Italy](https://www.worldhistory.org/italy/) after being taken as booty in 1204 CE during the [Fourth Crusade](https://www.worldhistory.org/Fourth_Crusade/).
