## Image Caption

This sandstone stela was made in what is present-day [Egypt](https://www.worldhistory.org/egypt/) around 66 CE. The [script](https://www.worldhistory.org/script/) is in Demotic. Parthenios oversaw the finances at the [Temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of [Isis](https://www.worldhistory.org/isis/) in Koptos (modern Qift, Egypt) from c. 18-63 CE. This stela details an offering made to the [ancient Egyptian gods](https://www.worldhistory.org/collection/194/ancient-egyptian-gods/). (Pushkin Museum, Moscow)
