When Lake Sevan's water dropped due to hydroelectric production in 1950, countless graves and other ancient artifacts were uncovered in Lchashen, [Armenia](https://www.worldhistory.org/armenia/). Over the decades, 800 graves were discovered the majority of which were made from stone and dated from the [Bronze Age](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Bronze_Age/). Various goods were found in these tombs, including skeletons of horses and oxen connected to carts in addition to [bronze](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/bronze/) statuettes of various animals and jewelry. Many of these artifacts are now at the State Hermitage Museum in St. Petersburg, Russia and the History Museum of Armenia in Yerevan, Armenia.
