## Image Caption

Located along the northern steep slope of the Geghama Mountains, Lchashen, in present-day [Armenia](https://www.worldhistory.org/armenia/), is home to several ancient ruins and archaeological sites of considerable interest. Archaeologists and researchers posit that Lchashen was first founded at the end of the 4th millennium BCE, and the hill fortress developed in the middle-to-end of the 3rd millennium BCE. This is a photograph of the ruins of the hill fortress.
