This water vessel has a pointed base and a long narrow neck. The site of Hazor is located 5 miles south-west of Lake Huleh, north of Galilee. During the Middle and Late [Bronze](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/bronze/) Ages, it had been one of the most powerful [cities](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) in the [Levant](https://www.worldhistory.org/levant/). Destroyed and abandoned in the 13th century BCE, it took on an important role once again during the [Iron Age](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Iron_Age/) as a [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) northern [kingdom of Israel](https://www.worldhistory.org/Kingdom_of_Israel/).
