## Image Caption

Secular and religious mural painting occupied a unique place in the Urartian [culture](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/culture/). The [palace](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/palace/) and [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of [Erebuni](https://www.worldhistory.org/Erebuni/) Citadel were richly decorated with multicolored and beautiful frescoes, covering around 2,000 square meters in surface. The dominant colors were black, white, red, blue, and yellow. This running leopard was part of a larger series of murals in the sumptuous palace hall at Erebuni Fortress.
