## Image Caption

This clay tablet records several inscriptions found on an old lapis lazuli [cylinder seal](https://www.worldhistory.org/Cylinder_Seal/). The seal had belonged first to the [Kassite](https://www.worldhistory.org/kassite/) king Shagarakti-Shuriash (reigned 1245-1233 BCE) in [Babylon](https://www.worldhistory.org/babylon/). It was taken to [Assyria](https://www.worldhistory.org/assyria/); later it was returned to Babylon, where it was rediscovered by the Assyrian king [Sennacherib](https://www.worldhistory.org/sennacherib/) (reigned 708-681 BCE). Probably 689 BCE. From [Nineveh](https://www.worldhistory.org/nineveh/), [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/), modern-day Iraq. (British Museum, London)
