This gypsum [wall](https://www.worldhistory.org/wall/) relief depicts part of the Assyrian attacking wave on the [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of -alammu. Archers shoot at the town. Spearmen (left) work their way towards the walls. The name of the city was inscribed completely, but only the last part of the city's name, -alammu, survives. The city probably lies in modern-day [Turkey](https://www.worldhistory.org/Asia_Minor/) or Iran. Neo-Assyrian Period, reign of [Sennacherib](https://www.worldhistory.org/sennacherib/), 700-692 BCE. Room XIV, the South-West [Palace](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/palace/) at [Nineveh](https://www.worldhistory.org/nineveh/), [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/), modern-day Iraq.
