The Kondo or Main Hall of the Kongobu-ji Shingon [Buddhist](https://www.worldhistory.org/buddhism/) [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) complex at [Mount Koya](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mount_Koya/), [Japan](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Japan/). The site was founded by [Kukai](https://www.worldhistory.org/Kukai/) in 819 CE and the present version of the Main Hall dates to 1932 CE.
