The Papyrus of Ani, a text of The [Egyptian Book of the Dead](https://www.worldhistory.org/Egyptian_Book_of_the_Dead/), was prepared for the priest Ani of [Thebes](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Thebes/) (c. 1250 BCE) and included among the [grave](https://www.worldhistory.org/burial/) goods of his [tomb](https://www.worldhistory.org/tomb/). It includes a number of chapters from the [Book of the Dead](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Book_of_the_Dead/).
