The obelisk of [Thutmose III](https://www.worldhistory.org/Thutmose_III/) (1479-1425 BCE), which originally stood at the [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of [Karnak](https://www.worldhistory.org/Karnak/), [Egypt](https://www.worldhistory.org/egypt/), but was removed to [Constantinople](https://www.worldhistory.org/Constantinople/) by Theodosius the Great in the 4th century CE.
