Coins were often included in [Buddhist](https://www.worldhistory.org/buddhism/) offerings in this period. They were symbolic of material and spiritual wealth, and were used to increase the merit of the dedication, which the donor could then share with others. 66 [copper](https://www.worldhistory.org/copper/) coins from Wardak, modern-day Afghanistan, circa 110-178 CE. The vase came from a Buddhist [stupa](https://www.worldhistory.org/stupa/) (in Afghanistan), transferred from the [India](https://www.worldhistory.org/india/) Museum in London.
