These coins show the [Sassanian](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sasanian_Empire/) "King of Kings" [Kosrau I](https://www.worldhistory.org/Kosrau_I/) (aka [Khosrow I](https://www.worldhistory.org/Kosrau_I/)), reigned 531-579 CE. He wears and holds a royal headband (diadem) as a symbol of kingship. Elements of earlier coins, such as the star and moon, are also incorporated and emphasize the "Kingly Glory" (Persian: Faar).
