## Image Caption

Early [Iron Age](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Iron_Age/) [Celtic](https://www.worldhistory.org/celt/) people copied [Greek](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/greek/) coins, often faithfully reproducing their designs and inscriptions. This suggests that Thracian die-engravers were illiterate, as legible Greek letters were gradually replaced by abstract patterns and dots.
