When General Jean-Baptiste Ventura opened the [Buddhist](https://www.worldhistory.org/buddhism/) monument ([stupa](https://www.worldhistory.org/stupa/)) at Manikyala in 1830 CE, he found a [coin](https://www.worldhistory.org/coinage/) depicting Tigin, a king of Kabul. The presence of the coin shows that the stupa was still being used in 700 CE. The coin was minted in Kabul, modern-day Afghanistan. From Manikyala, modern-day Pakistan. Reign of King Tigin, circa 650-700 CE. From the Cunningham Collection; previously owned by James Princep. (The British Museum, London).
