These ornaments show female figures (Tyches) representing the 4 leading [cities](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/) of of the Late [Roman](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Roman/) World. "[Rome](https://www.worldhistory.org/Rome/)" is dressed in military costume. "[Constantinople](https://www.worldhistory.org/Constantinople/)" holds a cornucopia (a horn filled with flowers and food), representing fruitful abundance. "[Alexandria](https://www.worldhistory.org/alexandria/)" holds sheaves of corns and rests her foot on the bow of a ship. Finally, "[Antioch](https://www.worldhistory.org/Antiochia/)" sits on a rock above the rover Orantes, represented by a nude youth beneath her.
