This bust is at the National Archeological Museum in Naples, [Italy](https://www.worldhistory.org/italy/). It was excavated in the Villa dei Papirii in [Herculaneum](https://www.worldhistory.org/Herculaneum/) and was thought to depict [Scipio Africanus the Elder](https://www.worldhistory.org/Scipio_Africanus_the_Elder/). However, this hypothesis has been discarded, and the bust is now thought to depict a private individual.
