This [column](https://www.worldhistory.org/column/) is from a [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) primarily dedicated to he dam [god](https://www.worldhistory.org/God/) Heryshef of Herakleopolis. [Ramesses II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ramesses_II/) is twice shown making offerings to a local form of [Osiris](https://www.worldhistory.org/osiris/). The god wears his typical feather crown but is in a kilt not his usual mummy form. Vertical texts further up and down display cartouches with [Ramesses](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/ramesses/)' throne and birth names. Those of his son Merenptah, who was already old when he inherited the throne, were hurriedly added in extant spaces near the bottom. 19th Dynasty, reigns of Ramesses II (1279-1213 BCE) and Merenptah (1213-1203 BCE).
