Roy, a well-known high-priest of [Amun](https://www.worldhistory.org/amun/)-Ra in [Thebes](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Thebes/), squats with his arms crossed on his knees. His long pleated robe was fashionable in the Ramesside period. The text on the back-pillar states that the statue was placed in the [temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of Mut, the wife of Amun-Ra. Roy presents a large [sistrum](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sistrum/), a ritual rattle. This was linked to the cult of [Hathor](https://www.worldhistory.org/Hathor/), whose cow-eared face is displayed. The sistrum was alos played for certain goddesses who assumed Hathoric aspects. 19th Dynasty, reign of [Ramesses II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ramesses_II/) to reign of Sety II, circa 1220-1200 BCE.
