King [Nebuchadnezzar II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Nebuchadnezzar_II/)'s building program at [Babylon](https://www.worldhistory.org/babylon/) used around 15,000,000 baked bricks. Thousands bore his name and titles stamped into the clay: "Nebuchadnezzar...the eldest son of Nabopolassar, King of Babylon, am I". On this brick, a workman wrote his own name "Zabibna", using the Aramaic [alphabet](https://www.worldhistory.org/alphabet/). From Babylon, southern [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/), Iraq. Neo-Babylonian Period, rein of Nebuchadnezzar II, 605-552 BCE. (The British Museum, London)
