## Image Caption

This is a diorite mina weight in the shape of a sugar loaf. The inscriptions state that this was a copy of a weight made for Nebuchadnezzar, following the standard of Shulgi, "The Old [Sumerian](https://www.worldhistory.org/Sumerians/) King" (reigned 2094-2047 BCE). It was the property of [Marduk](https://www.worldhistory.org/Marduk/)-shar-ilani. It weighs 978.3 grams. From Southern [Mesopotamia](https://www.worldhistory.org/Mesopotamia/), Iraq. Neo-Babylonian Period, reign of king [Nebuchadnezzar II](https://www.worldhistory.org/Nebuchadnezzar_II/), 605-562 BCE. (The British Museum, London)
