The cuneiform inscription on this polished diorite weight states "I [am] Darius, the great king, the son of Hystaspes, an Achaemenian". This is an abbreviated version of a standard inscription on a series of stone weights of Darius, which can be translated as " I [am Darius, the Great King, King of Kings, King of Countries, King in this earth, son of Hystaspes, an Achaemenian". From Al-Hilla, near Babylon, Mesopotamia, Iraq. Late 6th to early 5th centuries BCE. (The British Museum, London)
