The outer shroud was painted with a full face figure of the dead girl, flanked by gods and goddesses. A painted pectoral of cartonnage represents the Ba of [Cleopatra](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/cleopatra/) as a human-headed bird. She was the daughter of Candace (a member of the family of Cornelius Pollius, Archon of [Thebes](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Thebes/) in the time of the Emperor [Trajan](https://www.worldhistory.org/trajan/)).
