## Image Caption

The [Great Wall of China](https://www.worldhistory.org/Great_Wall_of_China/) was begun during the [Qin Dynasty](https://www.worldhistory.org/Qin_Dynasty/) (221-206 BCE) but little of that original [wall](https://www.worldhistory.org/wall/) is left. The wall that people recognize today is largely from the [Ming Dynasty](https://www.worldhistory.org/Ming_Dynasty/) (1368-1662 CE) which built the distinctive watchtowers such as this one.
