The [Temple](https://www.worldhistory.org/temple/) of [Hera](https://www.worldhistory.org/Hera/) II at [Paestum](https://www.worldhistory.org/Paestum/) ([Italy](https://www.worldhistory.org/italy/)), sometimes called the Temple of [Neptune](https://www.worldhistory.org/Neptune/) or the Temple of [Poseidon](https://www.worldhistory.org/poseidon/) (misnomers from the 18th century), is an [archaic](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Archaic/) Doric temple constructed ca. 470-460 BCE. The temple is peripteral and hexastyle with 6×14 columns.
