A Middle [Bronze Age](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Bronze_Age/) Canaanite gate at the site of [Tel Gezer](https://www.worldhistory.org/Gezer/) in modern-day [Israel](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/Israel/). This gate is believed to have been built—along with other fortifications—by the [city](https://www.worldhistory.org/city/)'s Canaanite inhabitants in the Middle [Bronze](https://www.worldhistory.org/disambiguation/bronze/) Age II ca. 1850 BCE when the city was resettled after being destroyed at the end of the Early Bronze Age. The gate, along with the rest of the city was destroyed again around the end of the Middle Bronze Age ca. 1500 BCE.
